About Me
Hi, I’m Ebony,
I founded Beautifully Papered because I reached a point where I realized I was tired of living a life that didn't feel like my own. I was building according to a script handed to me by others—one centered on inherited obligations and the expectations of everyone but myself. I was living by force, not by choice.
When I hit my 40s, I realized something needed to change – I needed to pivot. I needed to move away from the over-performing and hustle culture I was accustomed to. That way of life was killing me and I could no longer sustain it. I decided that there was a better way to live a big life while also living in my inherent feminine energy.
And so Beautifully Papered was born. Born from the idea that softness and structure could not only coexist but that, in order, to thrive you need to embody both. And that meant building the right system that would support my strengths as a woman instead of penalizing me for them. So I created my own system and started reclaiming my sovereignty and living authentically.
As I started to navigate this new way of being, I realized that so many other Black women were searching for the same peace and the same pivot. And as a result, I built out the D.O.P.E. system, a simple framework built on four pillars that value flow over force. The D.O.P.E. system gives you the blueprint to who you’re becoming and the means to actually get there.
Beautifully Papered is here to support your evolution so that this next chapter is your best chapter. Not because you will be different, but because you are choosing the version of you that’s been waiting to thrive.
I’m glad you made it to the D.O.P.E. corner of the world, because together we will usher in the Renaissance of the Black Woman. Along the way, dismantling the age-old trope of the “Strong Black Woman” and welcoming the “Whimsical Black Woman”, an identity rooted in femininity, rest, and soft power.
Intentionally,
EB, Founder
Soft life, beautifully structured
